The Rishikesh Saat Mod road project involves constructing a straightened four-lane road with a reduced forest corridor from 63 metres to 23 metres, a three-kilometre elevated road, and five wildlife underpasses to facilitate safe movement of elephants and other wild animals. The project includes transplanting around 750 trees, compensatory afforestation for approximately 3,200 felled trees, construction of retaining walls along the Chandrabhaga River to prevent erosion, and installation of street lighting along the entire stretch to improve safety and convenience. The project aims to eliminate accidents in a major accident-prone section and ensure smoother traffic flow.
