Rishon LeZion Shoreline Sea Munitions Clearance Project

A joint research project aimed at clearing unexploded grenades and other munitions from approximately 2 kilometers of shoreline in Rishon LeZion, Israel, which has been used as a firing range for decades. The project involves mapping and detecting munitions underwater to enable safe clearance and return of beach area to residents, with plans to expand the shoreline by 150 meters initially. The project is led by Israel's National Mine Action Authority and the National Institute of Oceanography, funded by Rishon LeZion's municipality.
