Rising Up to Empower Youth for Democracy, Human Rights and EU Values is a transformative two-year initiative designed to strengthen young people’s role in law, human rights, and democratic participation. The programme empowers youth through knowledge, skills, and platforms for civic and legal advocacy, ensuring their voices are represented in national and European policy processes. A core feature of the project is the creation of Youth Councils—participatory structures developed in collaboration with youth-led initiatives, youth clubs, NGOs, and public institutions. These councils will serve as platforms for dialogue between youth and decision-makers, promoting active citizenship and legal awareness. Structured activities will foster discussions on democracy, justice, and EU values, while also offering peer learning and advocacy training to deepen youth understanding of human rights and democratic systems. The programme also emphasizes digital skills, well-being, and sustainability competencies, empowering youth to address challenges such as climate change and digital transformation. By combining theory and practice, participants will learn to design and implement their own rights-based, impact-driven projects that promote EU values, green thinking, and youth-led innovation. Additionally, the project includes capacity-building for youth organizations through mentorship, skill-based training, and coaching. Workshops will equip youth-led groups to create advocacy campaigns, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and increase their influence on policy. Networking events and peer-learning spaces will support experience-sharing and long-term collaboration across youth communities. The project will also ensure visibility and dissemination through digital platforms, youth networks, and engagement with EU-wide youth initiatives. Together, these efforts will create a dynamic ecosystem of informed, empowered, and active young citizens committed to democratic values and rights.
