The objective of the project is to facilitate the Microenterprise Financial Institutions of Latin America and the Caribbean (MFI) access to the private sources of capital, through the qualification of the associated risk of its operations, such as through the improved presentation of financial information. The specific objectives of the project are: to facilitate MFI's access to risk qualification and evaluation services;Develop the market for risk qualification for the MFI; provide continuous information to the market about the financial criteria of the industry.The project will include the following three components: establish a "Rating Fund" to provide vouchers to microfinance institutions so that they can purchase rating services; create an "Information Exchange" on the web to provide a high degree of transparency to microfinance institutions; and promote and disseminate the project activities and results.
