Description
Description | South Australia’s biggest ever infrastructure project, the $15.4 billion River Torrens to Darlington works to create a Non Stop South Road. The project involves constructing twin underground tunnels using three Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) to allow cars to bypass 21 sets of traffic lights, improving traffic flow and reducing commute times. The first of three 300-tonne TBM cutterheads has been craned into place at the Southern Precinct launch box at Clovelly Park, marking a major milestone. Tunnelling is expected to commence in the second half of 2026, with the project targeted for completion by 2031 or earlier. |
