The project involves the development of approximately 220 km of riverfront expressways in Bihar along stretches of the Ganga and Gandak rivers. Planned as a major infrastructure initiative, the expressways aim to improve regional connectivity, reduce travel time, and support economic growth by linking key urban and semi-urban areas. The project is expected to enhance transportation efficiency, facilitate trade and logistics, and encourage residential, commercial, and industrial development along the corridor. By creating better access to previously less-connected locations, the riverfront expressways may also stimulate real-estate activity, attract private investment, and contribute to the emergence of new growth centres across the state.
