Riverview LLP Mega-Dairies Project

Riverview LLP, a Minnesota-based company, has proposed two mega-dairies in North Dakota near the Red River. One site in Herberg Township near Hillsboro is a 25,000-head dairy recently approved by the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality. Another site in Abercrombie with 12,500 cows was previously granted a permit. The project involves storing over 300 million gallons of untreated animal waste in lagoons less than two miles from the Red River and spreading the waste on about 43,000 acres of crop land throughout the Red River Valley.
