It includes the construction of an 859 km long, bi-directional transmission pipeline with a capacity of 685,000 m³ per day, alongside a network of storage tanks (including six strategic tanks in Riyadh and 32 operational tanks along the route) to ensure consistent water delivery. The scheme is planned under a Build, Own, Operate, Transfer (BOOT) concession model spanning 35 years from commercial operation, expected to start in early 2030, and will integrate solar power to lower carbon emissions while relying on the grid for energy. |
