Description | A senior loan of RON 240 million (equivalent to EUR 49 million) in favour of Distributie Energie Electrica Romania SA ("DEER", or the "Company"). The loan will be guaranteed by Societatea Energetica Electrica SA ("Electrica"), who owns 100% of the shares of the Company. The transaction is presented under the EBRD's Resilience and Livelihoods Framework, one of the focus areas of which is energy security in Ukraine and neighboring countries. This project was approved in the context of the Bank's response to the Russian-led invasion of Ukrainian territory in February 2022. To avoid delays to the delivery of this project, the Bank's President granted a deviation from the ordinary timelines for PSD disclosure, as contemplated by Section V of the Directive on Access to Information.
