RM of Lumsden Wascana Creek Bridge Erosion Protection

The main objective of the project is to provide erosion protection along the banks of the Wascana Creek immediately adjacent to the R.M. Bridge on the Seven Bridges Road to protect the bridge and road infrastructure from failure during a flood event. The existing banks along Wascana Creek experience significant erosion during spring runoff threatening the bridge. The proposed work will also protect adjacent private land, including a private residence which is within the floodplain of the Wascana Creek. The proposed project implements erosion protection such as heavy rip rap and articulating concrete block to prevent erosion to the Wascana Creek banks, bridge abutment, and roadway during high flow events.
