Description

The project’s main objective is to increase the efficiency and output of the water at the Alsask Water Treatment Plant by installing new distribution pumps and a new standby pump to ensure that the users of the Alsask water system will have access to water if a power failure occurs. Another objective of the project is to ensure the safety and quality of the water supply by removing the timbers in the raw water cistern, as these timbers may contain creosote. The project scope involves purchasing and installing two distribution pumps, the purchase, and installation of an engine-driven standby pump, removing the timbers at the raw water cistern, and installation of a precast manhole cistern within the existing cistern. The output of the project is new distribution and standby pumps installed at the water treatment plant and an upgraded cistern at the raw water supply pumphouse.
