Description
Description | OPAL Fuels and a Republic Services affiliate have formed a joint venture to develop a renewable natural gas (RNG) facility at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Landfill in Concord, North Carolina. The plant will convert landfill gas into renewable natural gas with an initial annual design capacity of approximately 1.4 million MMBtu. This project repurposes an existing OPAL-owned renewable electricity facility and includes a new long-term gas rights agreement. The facility uses proven technology to capture biomethane from landfill organic material decomposition and convert it into RNG, a low-carbon transportation fuel. |
