Description | Nearly 1.70 lakh kg of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plastic waste segregated at Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) is being used by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to develop service road stretches between Talapady and Nanthoor, and from Surathkal to Sasthan in Mangaluru. This initiative aims to provide a sustainable solution to plastic waste management and enhance road durability. The plastic is processed at a dedicated shredding unit before being used in road construction as per guidelines issued by the Indian Road Congress and NHAI. |
