Description | The Project Development Objectives of the Road Infrastructure and Safety Project of Bosnia and Herzegovina are to reduce user costs on the priority sections of the trunk and regional road networks, to improve the institutional framework for road safety, and to modernize road maintenance practices. There are 3 components to the project: 1) Rehabilitation of Selected Roads finances civil works to rehabilitate and repair 240 km of the trunk and regional road network in both entities during 2008-11; 2) Road Safety will finance the building of road safety capacity and two pilot projects; and 3) Technical assistance and capacity building will help introducing output and performance-based maintenance (OPBM) for routine and winter maintenance in each Entity and build capacity based on the recommendations of the 2007 transport review (TranSec study). |
