The objective is to contribute to economic development and poverty reduction in Nicaragua, with a focus on the Caribbean coast, byimproving the condition of the transportation infrastructure in rural areas of the country with a high incidence of poverty, facilitating theintegration of production areas and consumption areas and access to public and social services for the population of those regions.The specific objective of the program is to improve the traffic flow quality and accessibility of the targeted road segments by reducingaverage vehicle operating costs and shortening travel times, promoting sustainable movement of goods and passengers by improvingthe road infrastructure and adopting specific environmental and social management measures (paragraph 1.25).
