Robert Service School Modular Classrooms Expansion

Robert Service School in Dawson City requires additional classroom space to accommodate the displacement of two portables decommissioned in 2019. With the current reduced number of classrooms available at this facility COVID-19 spacing requirements has presented increasingly challenging logistical issues for delivering the educational program. Preliminary needs assessment planning has concluded that four new Middle School classrooms with support space are to be constructed on the existing school site, adjacent to the main building. Successful completion of this project will involve the design and construction of additional school space that meets educational program needs. Being a remote community in the Yukon Territory, this project represents a much-needed stimulus for the Dawson Business Community. Local Contractors will have the opportunity to bid on this project and local hotels and restaurants will see an increase in business from specialized trades.
