Description

Description

The Roberts Bank Terminal 2 project is a proposed new three-berth container terminal at Roberts Bank in Delta, Metropolitan Area of Vancouver, B.C., on Canada's west coast. The project would provide 2.4 million twenty-foot equivalent units of container capacity per year. The terminal would be located in deep, subtidal waters to minimize environmental effects. The project involves the development of the terminal superstructure and equipment and the subsequent operation of a new marine container terminal for a period of up to 40 years. The preferred bidder will be responsible for terminal facilities, equipment, and ongoing container handling operations. The project will be procured on two separate contracts:First, a contractor will be selected through a design-build (DB) approach to build the new landmass and wharf needed for the project; Then, approximately three years prior to the anticipated start of terminal operations, the terminal operator will be selected through a terminal concession (TC) approach.
