The project involves development on a 124-acre farmland site near Steward Road, with a footprint of 5-10 acres south of Interstate 88. The city of Rochelle is working with developer LFF Industrial on the project, which would bring 25-35 permanent jobs and 500-800 temporary construction jobs. Rochelle Municipal Utilities would provide power, water, and storm water services, with limits and obligations stipulated in a development agreement. The project is eligible for a 50% property tax abatement for six years under the Lee-Ogle Enterprise Zone. |
