Rochelle Intermodal Transload Center Expansion

The Rochelle Intermodal Transload Center (RITC) in Rochelle, Illinois, is undergoing an expansion to increase its capacity. The project includes excavating 28,000 cubic yards of soil, extending two tracks by 1,600 feet, paving 22,000 square yards of concrete for additional transload operations, and constructing a new 170-foot-long precast box culvert for drainage. The expansion will increase transloading track length to 4,600 feet, add a 5.9-acre concrete transload pad, 5.5 acres of compressed aggregate storage, and 30,000 feet of nearby track for staging or assembling unit trains.
