Description | The Contra Costa Resource Conservation District (CCRCD) will be installing an Urban Food Garden in partnership with the Rodeo Citizens Association (RCA) at the Rodeo Recreation Center in the spring/summer of 2022. The Garden plan would include organic fruits and vegetables, as well as pollinator plants to sequester carbon and create habitat for bees and butterflies, and water-wise, sustainable garden features. We have a robust Agriculture and Urban Farms Program at the CCRCD and would love to expand it into the town of Rodeo. This project would create a food garden for the community. Such a project is both timely and vital to this environmental justice community with no access to local food. |
