Description
Description | The RoLiXX project is a 36-month research initiative launched by Germany to assess the potential for extracting lithium from ancient saline brines located nearly 14,000 feet underground in the North German Basin. The project involves systematic analysis and scientific evaluation of lithium resources dissolved in deep, hot, salty formation waters within Permian Rotliegend sandstones dating back around 300 million years. The initiative aims to develop extraction methods suitable for high-salinity conditions and to understand lithium storage and mobilization underground through geological and geochemical analyses. |
