Roma Education Fund: Improving the educational and integration opportunities of Roma in Serbia II

Access to education and therefore access to employment opportunities for Roma is poor in Serbia, as in all Central and Southeast European countries. As the largest minority in Europe, Roma often experience discrimination, and not just in the education sector. This is where the project comes in to improve access to education and promote entry into the job market in order to increase the chances of Roma participating in society and finding a way out of poverty. The project is being implemented by the Roma Education Fund (REF) as the sponsor. The German contribution consists of a grant of EUR 4 million (Phase 2) for the implementation of suitable measures to achieve the objectives. Objectives The aim of the FC module is to improve the integration of Roma by improving education and employment opportunities. The target group of the project is, on the one hand, Roma adolescents and young adults who should benefit from measures to promote education at secondary level and promote employability, and, on the other hand, Roma who are returning to Serbia from Germany.
