Description
Description | With the 3-year strategic work plan “Roma equality, inclusion and participation 2026-2028” (EQUIP FPA) the European Roma Grassroots Organisations (ERGO) Network aims to combat antigypsyism and contribute to creating better living conditions for the approximately 12 Million Roma living in Europe. At European level, ERGO Network expresses its members’ concerns and aims to bridge the gap between the day-to-day reality of Roma communities and EU policy-making. It provides expertise to policy makers to design and implement more effective approaches to Roma equality as part of the EU Roma Framework for Equality, Inclusion and Participation, mainstream social policies and other EU initiatives. In parallel, it empowers grassroots Roma civil society to influence decisions affecting them on local and national level, to monitor the effective implementation of Roma policies and to hold their governments accountable. ERGO Network also works in partnership with other civil society organisations and stakeholders to promote an intersectional approach to equality and inclusion, mainstream a Roma perspective throughout a multitude of policy areas and address racial biases of the majority society. The strategic objectives of this 3-year work plan are: - To strengthen European and national anti-racism and anti-discrimination policies with a focus on antigypsyism and the EU Roma Strategic Framework - To ensure that the Roma are included in social policy frameworks - To build awareness and capacity to combat antigypsyism - To strengthen Roma civil society on national and local level The 4 work plan promotes and protects fundamental rights, promotes equality, prevents and combats antigypsyism and Roma poverty, promotes awareness about Roma culture and history, and contributes to all seven horizontal and sectoral objectives of the EU Roma Strategic Framework for Equality, Inclusion and Participation, as well as the EU Anti-Racism Action Plan. |
