RomaNet, Combating hate crimes and hate speech against Roma populations

This project aims to address the pervasive issue of hate speech and crimes targeting Roma populations. Through in-depth research on hate crime legislation and its implementation gaps and discriminatory patterns will be identified and new approaches to enhance the capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to hate crimes will be sought through the collaboration of CSOs and public authorities. Through the utilization of AI, constructive counter-narratives will be generated and published to combat the spread of hate speech online and promote inclusion. Targeted capacity building and awareness campaigning will equip CSOs, media professionals, Roma and non-Roma communities with the knowledge and skills to tackle hate crimes and mitigate their consequences .
