Rome Metro C Archaeological Integration Project

under construction

The Metro C line in Rome, Italy, is a modern metro line that integrates archaeological remains and artefacts into its stations, turning them into immersive archaeo-stations. The project involves construction through archaeologically sensitive areas, revealing and preserving Ancient Roman history beneath the city. Stations like San Giovanni, Colosseo-Fori Imperiali, and Porta Metronia showcase excavated remains such as drinking wells, military barracks, and thermal baths, blending modern transport infrastructure with cultural heritage.
