Roots4Rights: Protect, promote, and raise awareness of EU values and fundamental rights, specifically focusing on women's, girls' and LGBTIAQ+ people’s fundamental rights

"Limited access to funding sources by women's, feminist and LGBTIAQ+ organisations, due to an unfavourable environment, leads to budgetary instability and insecurity, insufficient organisational infrastructures, weak and adaptable systems and structures, and poor access to training and capacity building opportunities. The result is that organisations are not resilient and find it difficult to fulfil their mandates (which focus on protecting, promoting, enforcing and raising awareness of the rights of the general population with a particular emphasis on women, girls and LGBTIAQ+ people). It also has a negative impact on leadership, monitoring and participation in advocacy and decision-making processes. From this context, the specific objectives of Roots for Rights have been defined, as well as its methodological and content aspects. In order to achieve the overall objective of the project ""to contribute to protect, promote and raise awareness of EU values and fundamental rights, with a specific focus on the fundamental rights of women, girls and LGBTIAQ+ persons"", the following is foreseen: 1. Allocate financial support to selected initiatives (based on criteria of transparency and equal treatment) of women's, feminist and LGBTIAQ+ organisations for the protection, promotion and awareness-raising of fundamental rights and democratic values. 2. Contribute to the resilience and capacity building of grassroots women's, feminist and LGBTIAQ+ organisations to protect, promote and raise awareness of EU fundamental values and rights, with a particular focus on the fundamental rights of women, girls and LGBTIAQ+ persons. Furthermore, to facilitate civil dialogue, networking and inter-cooperation between grassroots women's, feminist and LGBTIAQ+ organisations. "
