Rotary Greenway Trail Link Lighting and Safety Project

The project aims to create a new walking trail to accommodate residents and provide accessibility to schools, services, employment, downtown businesses and established commuter routes. The project will upgrade a 6.5km long trail to make it a higher functioning active transportation route. The improvements along the trail will ensure the safety and provide better access to residents to connect to downtown businesses, schools, university etc. Project includes provision of lighting along 1.35 km of trail, installing the direct bury poles, one set of traffic signals, 4 benches, 1.35 km of centre line pavement markings, stop bars at the 7 road crossings, 4 trail etiquette signs and 1 map sign. With these improvements, there will be a 6.5 km north-south all ages and abilities active transportation route linking the downtown, surrounding neighbourhoods, a secondary school and Trent University.
