Description | This project consists of surface rehabilitation of approximately 21.5 km of Route 114 from Route 1 toward Fundy National Park. The work will include full depth recycling of the existing asphalt followed by placing 50 mm of base asphalt plus an additional 40 mm of seal coat asphalt. The project will also include replacing culverts as required. This section of road services the small communities along Route 114 and receives a large volume of outside traffic as the road is also a primary access route to Fundy National Park, a major tourist attraction. The surface of the asphalt portion has deteriorated significantly over the past few years with the majority of the road experiencing rutting, potholes, patching and severe cracking. |
