Description | The project involved safety improvements at the intersection of Route 18 and Williamson Road (Route 4006) at the border of West Salem, Hempfield, and Sugar Grove townships in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. It included realigning Williamson Road on the east side to be directly opposite the west side, radii improvements at all corners, sight distance improvements on the southeast corner, drainage upgrades, milling, paving, sign updates, and pavement markings. Preliminary work began in fall 2024, with major construction starting April 14, 2025, and completion of major work on July 14, 2025, ahead of schedule. Additional off-roadway work such as landscaping will be completed in the coming weeks. |
