ROUTE 343 PARTIAL PAVEMENT RECONSTRUCTION: DUTCHESS COUNTY

This project will resurface and repair subsurface instability on Route 343 from Route 82 to Route 22 in the Towns of Amenia, Dover and Washington and Village of Millbrook in Dutchess County. The pavement subsurface in the left wheel-well tracks and shoulders is instable causing chronic pavement failure. This project will excavate and replace unstable subsurface material with material that creates a more solid base to resurface. This project will also mill away 2-inches of remaining asphalt and resurface the entire width of the roadway with a warm-mix asphalt. The work done in this project will return the pavement to good condition with a treatment to prevent the subsurface instability that chronically exacerbates pavement failure of this segment of Route 343.
