RoWright - Comunity Group Rowing Program for Women with Cancer

Women are usually expected to take care of their family and loved ones. Most women are expected and are doing most shores at home, they are not encouraged to participate in sports (specially after having kids) or other outside home activities. This means most women don't have as many suport groups with shared interests (besides their families). RoWright aims to get women with cancer (specially breast cancer) rowing building a comunity of women that help and suport each other and themselves. Rowing is a great sport since it has very little impact, there is no physical contact and no jumping, it's an outrdoor nature sport, but it can be done indoor if needed; it works with most parts of the body and has both a resistance and aerobic part and it's a team sport, great for teambuilding. There are some papers showing the benefits of rowing for women with breast cancer. We want to create a european cominity that shares experiences, participate and create activities together and most important having a strong gorup of women that share not only the same disease, but also a passion for rowing. We also want to spread this project across all europe and get it to more clubs and countries, and go as far as we can go to have this big and amazing cominity.
