 Coca-Cola Beverage Pakistan Limited (CCBPL) is the exclusive bottler of ‘The Coca-Cola Company’ (TCCI) in Pakistan with the rights to produce, market, and distribute Coca-Cola's non-alcoholic carbonated, still purified water, fruit juices, and energy beverages. In 2016, IFC committed a €75 million A-Loan to CCBPL (or the Company). The second investment  was a loan  up to US$40 million to CCBPL committed in 2022  under COVID-19 Real Sector Envelope (RSE) Facility to fund CCBPL's expanded working capital needs, which have arisen due to COVID and partially finance the Company's capital expenditure program, which COVID delayed. This proposed investment (#48308) of up to US$50 million (equivalent in Euro) is the third investment with CCBPL, still under COVID-19 RSE Facility to finance its increased working capital requirements and maintenance capex of around US$8-10 million in FY23 (the Project). CCBPL’s annual production capacity is 358 million-unit cases (UC) (1 unit case = 5,678 liters). CCBPL is an IFC portfolio client with operational footprint encompassing seven manufacturing facilities across Pakistan, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Rahimyar Khan, Multan, Faisalabad, Karachi, in addition to the latest greenfield bottling facility (known as KPGF) located in Haripur (formally known as Islamabad bottling facility). The expansion of the KPGF plant included the addition of one Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) line having similar production capacity as the existing operational PET line (i.e. 45,000 bottles per hour).  CCBPL’s environmental and social (E&S) performance against IFC’s Performance Standards requirements, including implementation of E&S Action Plan (ESAP) for CCI 2016 investment available at - https://disclosures.ifc.org/project-detail/ESRS/37922/cci-pakistan has been judged satisfactory. As part of the appraisal for #46251, (https://disclosures.ifc.org/project-detail/ESRS/46251) IFC undertook an ESAP implementation update, the outcome of which is the consolidated ESAP attached to this ESRS.
