Description | The project involves the construction of a new Concourse E at Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers. It is part of a massive expansion that includes a new ticketing lobby, baggage claim area, new baggage handling system, a new transportation security checkpoint, expanded retail and food concessions, airside improvements, chiller plant building upgrades, and road and curbside improvements. Concourse E will open with 14 initial gates and infrastructure to support 19 gates in the future, allowing 10,000 to 15,000 more passengers daily. The project is a two-phase expansion with Phase 2 including the new concourse construction. Construction is expected to take about three years with targeted completion by December 2027. |
