Description | The Regional Transportation District (RTD) is implementing a new enforcement strategy by deploying small teams of about 5 officers, known as the Bus and Rail Impact Team (BRIT), including a sergeant, to focus on safety "hot spots" across its transit system. These hot spots are identified using crime data, operator reports, and rider complaints. The team’s assignments can shift daily or weekly based on data analytics to respond quickly to changing conditions across a system spanning eight counties and 40 cities. Additionally, RTD is increasing fare enforcement with two dedicated teams conducting fare checks starting May 10. |
