Description | The project involves the distribution of 400 acre-feet of water rights owned by Garfield County in the Ruedi Reservoir. The water rights were purchased in 2013 via a perpetual contract with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. Since 2021, most of the water has been allocated to the Colorado Water Conservation Board to support endangered fish, but in 2026, the water will be distributed to the West Divide Water Conservation District and the Silt Water Conservancy District to support agriculture and irrigation due to drought and low snowpack conditions. |
