The Rural Development II program, Phase IV + V (Rural Development Program) includes the rapid and effective development of rural infrastructure by expanding rural roads in Myanmar's southern Shan State, in the districts of Taunggyi, Loilem and Langkho. In addition to the investment, we propose an A&F measure to support the sponsor in planning and introducing a maintenance system. The program complements the measures in Phases I - III of the Rural Development I program. The aim of the measure is the sustainable and year-round use of the expanded rural roads by the target group. The target group are the various road users and the rural, often poor population living in the catchment area of the roads in southern Shan State, who predominantly belong to ethnic minorities. The project improves the long-term development of rural areas, access to markets, professional qualifications, financial services and health and educational facilities. This contributes to improving the socio-economic living conditions of the rural population in the project region. Promoting trade and exchange can create employment opportunities and income and promote market economy development.
