Description | The Rural Municipality of Excel No. 71 Landfill Decommissioning and Land Reclamation After Closure Project (the Project) includes the closure and decommissioning of the Verwood landfill, which consists of the preparation and submission of a closure and a post-closure plan that will consist of the area being covered with a clay cap or a soil/geosynthetic liner that will be capped with organic soil and vegetation. This Project also includes a groundwater monitoring plan. The landfill will be decommissioned before it’s permit is expired in April 2022 in order to focus resources on the RM’s other landfill and decrease the impact on the environment. |
