Description

On August 16, 2011, a local private company, Chongqing Kangda Group signed an agreement with the Rushan Municipal Government to expand and operate a wastewater treatment plant in Rushan City, Shandong Province. The existing plant has a capacity to treat household wastewater for 20,000 cubic meters per day and industrial wastewater treatment plant for 20,000 cubic meters per day. Chongqing Kangda also needs to double the capacity to treat household wastewater. That is, the expected total treatment capacity of the plan is 80,000 cubic meters per day. The total investment is RMB 130 million (US$ 19.57 million). However out of the total investment, the portion for obtaining the concession to run the existing facility and the portion to build the extension are unknown. The agreement was granted through an open bidding process, in which three bidders where shortlisted including Chongqing Kangda.
