Description | IFC’s second investment in the Russkiy Mir Group, the project consists of the financing the Group’s 2005-2006 capital expenditure program, including: - the development and construction of the Taman liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and fuel oil terminal and port on the Black Sea (the first modern LPG marine export terminal in Russia); - the purchase and expansion of railcar maintenance facilities; - the purchase of locomotives and railcars; and - the purchase of wheel making/spare parts manufacturer. The Group has reached a fleet size of over 14,000 railcars, which allows for economies of scale from investing in supporting infrastructure, such as major repair and manufacturing facilities, and for undertaking other petroleum product transportation related investments, such as the Taman terminal. |
