The project involves the modernization works for 140.7 km long Ruta 68 highway extension, which connects Santiago, Valparaíso, and Viña del Mar. Along with modernization and increasing security and service of the road the scope of works includes the following development works :Third lane in the 8.3 km long section of Vespucio link to the Costanera Norte link;Fourth lane between Costanera Norte link and Lo Prado Toll;Two-lane 82 km long reversible carriageway between Lo Prado Toll and the Las Cenizas Junction;Lo Prado 3 and Zapata 3 tunnels;Mapocho and Pudahuel bridges.The concession also includes improvements in existing 12 bridges, 12 interchanges and 16 crossings on the route as well as adjustments in the layout to avoid curves and steep slopes and LED lighting at pedestrian walkways and bridges.
