Rwanda - Bank of Kigali - FAPA Technical Assistance

This intervention concerns the Bank of Kigali FAPA Technical Assistance. It aims to strengthen BK’s capacity and to enable it deliver its development mandate more effectively and efficiently. The TA will complete the credit facility offered by AfDB which includes a subordinated loan of up to USD8 million and senior loan of up to USD 4 million. The TA will address noted BK’s operational weaknesses and its capacity to manage a growing business. BK strategy is to contribute to this goal through provision of financial resources to economically and financially viable private and individuals. The proposed TA will capacitate BK to enable it meet these goals. The proposed TA request is therefore in line with AfDB’s vision in that it supports the private sector, which is a principal sector in fighting poverty through job creation. It comprises five main components namely: (i) Enhancing Operations, (ii) Financial Management, (iii) Enhancing IT Systems, (iv) Human Resource Support and (v) Project Management.
