RWE has fully commissioned the 16.8 megawatts (MW) onshore Rozdrażew wind farm. After fourteen months of construction, the seven turbines generate enough green electricity to meet the needs of more than 27,000 Polish households. Rozdrażew is already the 16th RWE wind farm in Poland – the company has an installed capacity of 410 MW in our country. “I would like to thank the entire team for their gr

Description
Description | RWE has fully commissioned the 16.8 megawatts (MW) onshore Rozdrażew wind farm. After fourteen months of construction, the seven turbines generate enough green electricity to meet the needs of more than 27,000 Polish households. Rozdrażew is already the 16th RWE wind farm in Poland – the company has an installed capacity of 410 MW in our country. “I would like to thank the entire team for their great work. I am proud that our portfolio of renewable energy production is constantly expanding, which is another milestone on the way to actively supporting the country’s energy transformation. Thanks to three wind farms that are to be put into commercial use this year, we are definitely strengthening our position in the green energy sector in Poland,” says Wojciech Borkowski, responsible at RWE Renewables for the construction of onshore projects. The expansion continues In the west of Poland, about 100 kilometres from Szczecin, in the Mieszkowice commune, RWE is building another wind farm: two wind turbines are expected to generate enough green energy annually to meet the annual needs of another 8,800 households. For the Wierzchlas 7 MW project, the Polish government has entered into a 15-year bilateral contract for difference (CFD) with the company. As one of the world’s leading companies in the field of renewable energy sources, RWE definitely continues to expand its portfolio in Poland. In addition to the Wierzchlas wind farm currently under construction, the Dolice (48 MW) and Lech Nowy Staw III (12 MW) farms are also waiting for concessions. In addition, in 2022, the company will start the construction of the Żnin onshore project (48 MW). RWE diversifies its Polish portfolio of renewable sources by investing in photovoltaic projects. In 2022 and 2023, the company plans to build new solar projects with a capacity of over 80 MW. RWE in Poland is also active in the offshore area. The company is at the stage of advanced preparations for the construction of FEW Baltic II with a capacity of 350 MW and has applied for further concessions in the Baltic Sea.
