The project development objective of the Higher Education Quality Improvement Project for the Republic of Yemen is to create enabling conditions for the enhancement of the quality of university programs and graduate employability. There are four components to the project. The first component of the project is quality improvement for university programs. This component will raise the quality of selected priority undergraduate programs in established public universities through a Quality Improvement Fund (QIF). The second component of the project is quality assurance. This component will contribute to the development of quality assurance instruments and procedures and to the promotion of a quality assurance culture. The third component of the project is institutional capacity development. This component will: (i) build the planning and monitoring capacity of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR); and (ii) develop the fiduciary capacity of Taiz University. The fourth component of the project is monitoring and evaluation and project management. This component will support the project coordination, implementation, management, and monitoring and evaluation.
