Description | The Sana'a Emergency Power Project development objectives are to: a) relieve critical supply constraints and meet the growing demand for'a reliable and adequate power supply, particularly in Sana'a, the key load center, until'a master plan can be designed and implemented for further least-cost system expansion; and b) lay the foundation for development and reform of the power sector in an economically and environmentally sustainable manner, and with increased participation of the private sector. The project consists of four components: a) new generation capacity; b) rehabilitation of existing generation units and transmission networks; c) project management and training; and d) technical assistance for sector planning and institutional reform. |
