Description
Description | S. Thunder Co. Ltd., a consortium of Zurn Industries of the US (90%) and Thai Agro Power (10%), started developing a 21.5-MW, US$32.0 million waste to energy plant that would use rice husks as fuel. Zurn Industries was responsible for project technology and development and Thai Agro Power was to supply fuel to the project. The developers agreed to sell 18.5-MW of the plant's output to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand under a 20-year PPA. The plant was developed under the Small Power Producer (SPP) Program that encourages the sale of excess output to EGAT. The project was expected to become operational in late-1998. None None |
