The project involves the construction of the Sabanalarga solar PV plant, located in Sabanalarga municipality, in the department of Atlantico, Colombia. The sponsor is Colombian power producer ISAGEN, which acquired the project from subsidiaries of Spanish solar developer Solaer in 2021. The planned capacity of the plant is 100MW and the Spanish EPC firm Negratin will carry out the construction. The total amount of the investment is $223 million, of which $29m were provided with a $29 million green standby letter of credit from the Santander. The debt was approved in October 2023. The construction started on September 5th, 2022 and the plant is expected to start commercial operations in the second half of 2023.
