Sabine Pass LNG Expansion Project

Cheniere Energy is working on a two-phase brownfield expansion at the Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Louisiana. Phase 1 includes Train 7 with approximately 6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of additional LNG production capacity and a boil-off gas reliquefaction unit. Phase 2 would add two more trains, potentially adding roughly 19 mtpa in total. Baker Hughes secured equipment and services awards for the expansion, supporting the first phase. Cheniere signed a lump-sum, turnkey engineering, procurement and construction contract with Bechtel in May for the first phase and issued a limited notice to proceed, allowing early engineering and procurement work while pursuing regulatory approvals, financing, and commercial support for a final investment decision (FID).
