Sabine Pass LNG Expansion Project

Cheniere Energy has selected Bechtel as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for its latest expansion project at the Sabine Pass liquefaction facility in Louisiana. The project involves adding three liquefaction trains capable of producing 20 million tonnes per annum (tpa) of LNG at peak. Phase one includes a single train with 6 million tpa capacity, a boil-off gas re-liquefaction unit, and supporting infrastructure, with the remaining two trains to be built in a second phase. The project is awaiting regulatory approvals and aims for a final investment decision in early 2027.
