Description

Description

The Project consists of building two stormwater retention ponds and drainage infrastructure in the Town of Sackville. The Project involves utilizing the abandoned Pickard Quarry to construct a new outlet, dike and control structure for a stormwater retention pond, which will connect to the Town’s existing stormwater infrastructure that leads to Lorne Street. The Project also involves the construction of a new naturalized stormwater retention pond near Charles Street, which will connect to the Town’s existing pond on St. James Street with a drainage channel. The purpose of the project is to increase stormwater treatment capacity from 40,000 to 100,000 cubic metres per day and improve the Town’s ability to manage extreme weather events. The project consists of a total of 14 culverts at 6 locations. The culverts provided a more cost-effective solution while ensuring full-service road access around the retention pond. Additionally, they require less maintenance and offer greater longevity. The project consists of the following culverts at these locations: 1. Charles Street crossing - twin 900 dia. culverts 2. New CN crossing - triple 750 dia. culverts 3. Sloan Drive crossing - twin 1050 dia. culverts 4. Crescent Street crossing - twin 1050 dia. culverts 5. Existing CN crossing location - 19.8m long replaced with triple 750 dia. culverts 6. New CN crossing location - 14.4m long replaced with twin 1200 dia. Culverts
