The project involves the construction of the Tertiary Treatment Facility extension of the Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (EchoWater) in California, USA.The project involved the construction of several significant concrete structures, such as granular media filters, disinfection basins, pumping stations, electrical buildings, and support facilities. Through the upgraded treatment process, the wastewater treatment facility now achieves a remarkable removal rate of 99% for ammonia and 89% for nitrogen. This achievement was made possible by the Tertiary Treatment Facilities project, which transformed the EchoWater Resource Recovery Facility from a secondary treatment level to a tertiary treatment level. The project aimed to eliminate pathogens and produce high-quality effluent suitable for unrestricted recycling. Additionally, the project encompassed the construction of an Area Control Center (ACC), substations, transformer yards, chemical storage and feed systems, a stormwater handling and detention basin, civil and electrical site work, as well as an Effluent Observation Structure (EOS).
